THE HELP CENTRE
WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICE FEES?
Every business is unique and has varying levels of needs and requirements. Whilst we could offer a set number of service packages at pre-determined prices, it invariably means trying to fit square pegs into round holes!
At Benchmark, our initial no-obligation meeting will allow us to gain an understanding of your business, your requirements and your goals in order to prepare a personalised monthly fixed price agreement designed to cover your unique situation. That way, you only pay for what you need and nothing more.
WHICH ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE SHOULD I USE?
We can cater for any accounting software program you wish to use.
However, in order to offer a cost-effective, efficient and all-encompassing service, we recommend all clients to embrace the cloud platform.
Cloud accounting enables real-time processing and information and supports our 'in-house CFO' service offering.
To get the most out of our service, we encourage the use of Xero or QB Online. Each has different advantages and functions and we identify which program will suit you best in our initial meeting.
WHAT IS A CFO AND HOW WILL IT BENEFIT ME?
The role of a Chief Financial Officer is to ensure a business stays financial healthy and can meet their obligations at any time - that is, they are 'the guardian of the books". However, they are also in charge of corporate governance, risk management and the maintenance of effective systems of internal control. They oversee all aspects of the financial management function of an organisation and report to the board of directors/owners.
Usually a CFO is out of the scope of small business due to affordability but at Benchmark, we can offer you access to an experienced finance professional at a fraction of the cost of the full-time CFO. Our services can include:
Monitor the financial health and well-being of the business;
Offer financial insight and guidance on all company decisions and issues;
Provide back-office functions such as reconciling accounts, creditor and debtor management and payroll processing, to name a few.
These are services requiring abilities and time that many small business owners don't possess, but often need in order to succeed.
Having a virtual CFO is therefore an affordable alternative to hiring a full-time CFO or in-house accountant and can make a huge difference to small business by:
Creating budgets and forecasts and ensuring they are monitored and reviewed;
Identifying threats and opportunities by highlighting trends in the market;
Validating or discouraging decisions with financial well-being in mind;
Provides accountability to owners through ongoing consultations and engagement to ensure that strategic plans are being implemented and not left in the too hard basket.
